Kallorix

Kallorix or AI-Receptionist.com?

Both are AI phone receptionists for small businesses. One is a broad product from a team in the United States; the other is built for UK trades. Here is how they differ.

The short version

AI-Receptionist.com is a general AI answering service with a long feature list, a low entry price in dollars and customers in several countries. Kallorix is narrower: it is made for UK trades and local services, priced in pounds, and designed around getting the job details to the owner by text.

What we say about AI-Receptionist.com comes from ai-receptionist.com as it read on 11 October 2026. Products and prices change, so check their site for the current details. If anything here is out of date, email us and we will correct it.

What AI-Receptionist.com offers

According to its website, it is built by a small team based in the United States and serves the United States, Canada and the UK and EU. It answers calls around the clock, holds a conversation, answers questions, books appointments and routes calls or takes messages.

  • A knowledge base you fill with text, web addresses, documents and questions and answers
  • Call transfers to your team, including screened transfers that text you the caller's details first
  • A feature that lets you ring your own number for a spoken summary of recent calls
  • Photos sent by the caller during a call
  • Google Calendar for appointments
  • Connection to internet phone systems
  • More than 55 languages, with the caller's language detected automatically
  • Between two and ten calls at once, depending on the plan

Its site says set-up of the instructions and knowledge base is done for you on most plans.

What Kallorix offers

Kallorix answers as your business, asks the questions your trade needs and texts you the caller's name, number, where they are, what they need and how soon.

  • Built from your website in about two minutes; you check and change anything.
  • Question sets for UK trades, from plumbers and electricians to recovery firms and tree surgeons.
  • A link texted to the caller to share an exact location or a photo.
  • A British voice and British phrasing, with UK postcodes and phone numbers handled properly.
  • An urgent call can be tried on your mobile once; a free time can be offered from your calendar.
  • If your network can't divert calls, you can give out your Kallorix number, which rings your mobile first.

It has fewer integrations. It does not connect to phone systems or CRMs, and it does not give spoken summaries.

Price

AI-Receptionist.com's site says plans start at $14 a month for 75 minutes, going up to 1,000 minutes a month on its Business plan, with extra minutes at $0.25 each. It offers a 7-day free trial with no credit card, and says you can cancel at any time. Prices are shown in dollars.

Kallorix is priced in pounds:

  • Starter: £39 a month, 250 minutes
  • Growth: £99 a month, 500 minutes
  • Maximus: £149 a month, unlimited minutes with a fair-use ceiling of 3,000

Their entry plan is smaller, at 75 minutes, and minutes beyond a plan are charged. Kallorix starts at 250 minutes and does not charge for extra minutes at all: if you run out, your phone rings as normal and we text you the number of anyone you miss.

Why trades choose Kallorix

These are the differences that matter most to a trade business, set against what AI-Receptionist.com publishes about its own service.

  • Made in the UK, for UK trades. Prices in pounds, a British voice and phrasing, and UK postcodes, road names and phone numbers handled properly.
  • She already knows your trade. You are not handed an empty knowledge base to fill. She is built from your website and comes with the questions your trade needs.
  • No charge for extra minutes. Their site charges for each minute over your plan. We never do.
  • More than three times the minutes to start. Our first plan has 250 minutes against their 75.
  • The caller's exact location. A link the caller taps to put a pin on a map, which a recovery firm or mobile fitter cannot work without.
  • Works when your phone can't divert. Your Kallorix number rings your mobile first, and she takes what you don't answer.

Who AI-Receptionist.com suits

  • Freelancers and very small businesses who want the lowest possible monthly cost.
  • Businesses with an internet phone system they want it connected to.
  • Anyone who wants a wide range of languages and features to configure themselves.
  • Businesses in North America, or with customers there.

Who Kallorix suits

  • UK trades who want a receptionist that already knows what their kind of job needs asking.
  • Owners who would rather have it set up from their website than build a knowledge base.
  • Businesses that want prices in pounds, a UK phone number and a UK business to deal with.
  • Trades that need the caller's exact location, such as vehicle recovery and mobile tyre fitting.

Things worth checking with either

  • The voice. Ring each one. Your customers will notice whether it sounds like someone from round here.
  • UK details. Give it a postcode and a mobile number quickly and see what comes out in the message.
  • What it says when it doesn't know. Ask for a price it has not been given.
  • Where your callers' data goes, and whether calls are recorded. Kallorix keeps no audio and removes the conversation text after 90 days.

How to decide

If you enjoy configuring software and want the most features for the least money, a general product may suit you well. If you would rather it worked for your trade from the first call, a specialist one will get you there faster.

The honest test is to hear both. Build a free Kallorix demo from your own website, or from your trade and town if you have no site. It takes about two minutes and needs no card. Ring it as an awkward customer, read the text it sends you, and compare that with what you hear elsewhere. Choose whichever would win you the most jobs.
