Kallorix

Kallorix or ANNA Receptionist?

Both answer the phone for a small UK business when you can't. They are built around different ideas of what a small business needs, and that is what should decide it for you.

The short version

ANNA Receptionist is a front desk that covers several channels at once: phone calls, WhatsApp and messages from social apps. It is priced by the number of calls. Kallorix does one thing: it answers the phone calls a trade business misses, asks the questions that trade needs, and texts the owner the job. It is priced by minutes.

If your customers message you as much as they ring you, that difference matters a great deal. If your work comes in by phone, it matters in the other direction.

What we say about ANNA Receptionist comes from anna.money/reception as it read on 11 October 2026. Products and prices change, so check their site for the current details. If anything here is out of date, email us and we will correct it.

What ANNA Receptionist offers

According to its website, ANNA Receptionist answers phone calls and WhatsApp messages day and night, and handles chat messages from Instagram, Telegram, Facebook and TikTok. After each call it sends a summary with a suggested next step and a list of people to call back.

  • It gathers caller details and answers common questions.
  • For businesses that take bookings, it books into a live calendar and can reschedule.
  • It flags likely spam and time-wasters and leaves the decision to you.
  • It transfers a caller to a person when they ask.
  • It speaks around 40 languages.
  • You are given a new mobile number, which you can use directly or forward your calls to.

Its site describes two kinds of customer: businesses that quote first, such as builders and consultants, and businesses where clients book a slot, such as dentists, vets and gyms.

What Kallorix offers

Kallorix is made for trades and local services, and only answers phone calls. She answers as your business, asks the few questions your trade needs to judge a job, and texts you the caller's name, number, where they are, what they need and how soon.

  • Question sets for each trade: a recovery firm is asked whether the vehicle rolls, a plumber whether water is still running.
  • She can text the caller a link to share their exact location or a photo of the problem.
  • If you switch it on, she tries your mobile once for an urgent caller.
  • She can offer a free time from your calendar for you to confirm.
  • She switches to the caller's language and still texts you in English.
  • You keep your own number and divert missed calls, or give out your Kallorix number, which rings your mobile first.

She does not answer WhatsApp, social messages or web chat for your customers, and she does not make outbound calls.

How each is priced

ANNA's site lists four plans, all plus VAT: Starter at £29 a month with 35 calls, Entrepreneur at £49 with 70 calls, Business at £99 with 175 calls and Big Business at £249 with 450 calls. Extra calls are charged at between 55p and 85p each depending on the plan. A call is up to three minutes, and a longer call counts as another call for each further three minutes. The first month is free on the two smaller plans, a card is needed to sign up, and there is no minimum term.

Kallorix is priced by time, not by call:

  • Starter: £39 a month, 250 minutes
  • Growth: £99 a month, 500 minutes
  • Maximus: £149 a month, unlimited minutes with a fair-use ceiling of 3,000

There is no charge for going over. If your minutes run out, your phone rings as normal, a caller you miss hears that you will ring back, and we text you their number. There are 7 days free, and no contract.

The difference shows on a busy day. When calls are counted in three-minute blocks, a four-minute call uses two of your allowance, and every call beyond the allowance is charged. With Kallorix a four-minute call is four minutes, and there is never a charge for going over.

Why trades choose Kallorix

These are the differences that matter most to a trade business, set against what ANNA Receptionist publishes about its own service.

  • She asks your trade's questions. A plumber's caller is asked whether water is still running; a recovery caller, whether the vehicle rolls. You don't have to write them.
  • No charge for a busy week. ANNA charges for each call beyond your plan. Kallorix never bills for going over.
  • Long calls don't count twice. You use the minutes the call took, not a block for every three.
  • A pin on the map or a photo. She texts the caller a link to share exactly where they are, or to show you the problem, before you set off.
  • You keep your own number. Customers ring the number they always have. A new number is there if your phone can't divert, and it rings you first.
  • Hear your own before you give a card. The demo is built from your website and needs no card at all.

Who ANNA Receptionist suits

  • Businesses whose customers get in touch by WhatsApp and social messages as well as by phone, and who want one place for all of it.
  • Appointment-led businesses such as salons, clinics, vets and gyms, where the main job is filling a calendar.
  • Businesses with more than one location.
  • Anyone who already uses ANNA's other products and wants them together.

Who Kallorix suits

  • Trades whose work arrives by phone call: plumbers, electricians, locksmiths, recovery firms, drainage and heating engineers, roofers and the like.
  • Owners who want the details that decide the job, asked the way they would ask them.
  • Anyone who needs a caller's exact location or a photo before setting off.
  • Businesses that want a fixed monthly cost with no charge for a busy week.

How to decide

Ask where your enquiries actually come from. Look at last week: how many were phone calls, and how many were messages? If messages are half your enquiries, a product that covers them is worth more to you than one that doesn't. If nine in ten are calls from people with an urgent problem, what matters is how well those calls are handled.

The honest test is to hear both. Build a free Kallorix demo from your own website, or from your trade and town if you have no site. It takes about two minutes and needs no card. Ring it as an awkward customer, read the text it sends you, and compare that with what you hear elsewhere. Choose whichever would win you the most jobs.
