Kallorix

Kallorix or the IONOS AI Receptionist?

IONOS is known for websites and domains, and now sells an AI receptionist too. Kallorix is a specialist for trades. The two are priced in different ways, which is the first thing to understand.

The short version

The IONOS AI Receptionist is a general call-answering assistant priced by the number of calls, with an unlimited plan at the top. Kallorix is built for UK trades and priced by minutes. IONOS sends you a summary by email; Kallorix sends you the job by text.

What we say about the IONOS AI Receptionist comes from ionos.co.uk as it read on 11 October 2026. Products and prices change, so check their site for the current details. If anything here is out of date, email us and we will correct it.

What the IONOS AI Receptionist offers

According to its website, it answers calls around the clock and can handle more than one caller at once. It learns about your business from your website and from documents you upload.

  • A dedicated phone number, or your existing number forwarded to it
  • An email summary after every call, and a call history
  • Calls forwarded to a person according to rules you set
  • A choice of up to ten voices and a formal or friendly tone
  • Appointment scheduling with Google Calendar, Outlook, Cal.com and Calendly
  • A connection to your CRM, an API and a website widget on the top plan

Its site says set-up takes under fifteen minutes, that the service is GDPR-compliant and that your data is not used to train AI.

What Kallorix offers

Kallorix answers the calls you miss as your business, asks what your trade needs and texts you the job.

  • Question sets for each trade: whether water is still running, whether the vehicle rolls, what the tree is near.
  • A text message, not an email, within moments of the call ending.
  • A link texted to the caller to share an exact location or a photo of the problem.
  • An urgent caller tried on your mobile once.
  • A free time offered from your calendar for you to confirm.
  • Other languages: she switches to the caller's and still texts you in English.

Kallorix does not offer a choice of voices, a CRM connection, an API or a website widget for calls.

How each is priced

The IONOS site lists three packages, all excluding VAT: £39 a month with 30 calls included and 49p for each call after that; £69 a month with 100 calls and 39p a call after that; and £99 a month with unlimited calls. It lists a one-month free trial and says each plan can be cancelled at any time.

Kallorix is priced by minutes:

  • Starter: £39 a month, 250 minutes
  • Growth: £99 a month, 500 minutes
  • Maximus: £149 a month, unlimited minutes with a fair-use ceiling of 3,000

The two models suit different patterns. Paying per call suits a business with a small number of long calls. Paying per minute suits one with many short calls. As a rough guide, a typical trade enquiry is about two minutes, so 250 minutes is around 125 calls.

On their two smaller plans, each call beyond the allowance is charged, at 49p or 39p. With Kallorix, if you run out of minutes you are not charged more: your phone rings as normal and we text you the number of anyone you miss.

Why trades choose Kallorix

These are the differences that matter most to a trade business, set against what IONOS publishes about its own service.

  • The job arrives by text. IONOS sends an email summary. A tradesperson on a job reads a text; an email can wait until evening, and the caller won't.
  • No charge per extra call. IONOS's smaller plans charge 49p or 39p for each call beyond the allowance. Kallorix never bills for going over.
  • She asks your trade's questions. Whether the water is still running, whether the vehicle rolls, what the tree is near. A general assistant takes a general message.
  • A pin on the map or a photo. The caller taps a link and you see where they are, or what the problem looks like.
  • An urgent caller can reach you. If you switch it on, she tries your mobile once before taking a message.
  • Works when your phone can't divert. Your Kallorix number rings your mobile first.

Who the IONOS AI Receptionist suits

  • Businesses that already have their website, domain or email with IONOS and want to keep everything in one account.
  • Offices that live in email and want summaries there.
  • Appointment-led businesses that use one of the calendars it connects to.
  • Firms with a high volume of calls who want an unlimited plan.
  • Businesses that want to choose the voice.

Who Kallorix suits

  • Trades who are out on jobs and read texts, not email, during the day.
  • Owners who want the questions their trade depends on asked without having to write them.
  • Recovery firms, mobile fitters and others who need to know exactly where the caller is.
  • Anyone who wants a photo of the problem before setting off.
  • Businesses whose phones can't divert, who need a number that rings them first.

Email or text?

It sounds like a small difference and it isn't. A plumber under a sink will see a text. An email may not be read until the evening, by which time an urgent caller has rung somebody else. If you work at a desk, email is fine and may be better, because it files itself. Think about where you are when the phone rings.

How to decide

Work out how many calls you miss in a month and how long they last, and price both. Then listen to both, because the quality of the conversation matters more than a few pounds either way.

The honest test is to hear both. Build a free Kallorix demo from your own website, or from your trade and town if you have no site. It takes about two minutes and needs no card. Ring it as an awkward customer, read the text it sends you, and compare that with what you hear elsewhere. Choose whichever would win you the most jobs.
